Public Family Law Solicitor
Location: Darlington

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Solicitor within our Public Family Law team.

We are seeking dynamic and motivated individuals who are looking to becoming part of the fabric of the team at Hewitts and invest in their long-term career with the firm.  You will have the ability to work independently and as part of team, managing a busy workload, and working to tight deadlines.

Children Panel accreditation is desirable but not essential.  The successful candidate will be expected to undertake advocacy as well as run a full caseload of files.

PQE of 2 years+ is desirable.

Residential Property Fee Earner
Location: Darlington

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Residential Property Fee Earner at our Darlington office.

The successful candidate will be experienced in dealing with high volume residential property transactions including purchases, sales and re-mortgages from inception to conclusion.  An ability to manage a busy and varied caseload is essential along with strong communication and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload working towards targets and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Drafting legal documents.
  • Using a case management system for maintaining files.
  • Obtaining and checking land registry documents and title deeds.
  • Carrying out and checking pre-contract searches.
  • Dealing with clients, both in person and on the telephone, in a confident manner, providing clear, accurante and up to date information.

Salary is negotiable, dependent on experience.

Commercial / Commercial Property Fee Earner
Location: Bishop Auckland

We are expanding our increasingly busy Commercial team and are seeking applications from candidates who are experienced in Commercial and/or Commercial Property transactions

The successful candidate will be experienced in dealing with a busy and varied Commercial caseload from instruction through to conclusion. You will pride yourself on being able to deliver high quality legal advice with a commercial focus. You will have strong organisation skills with a keen eye for detail and be able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day to day matters with a view to building long term business relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising a wide range of Commercial and/or Commercial Property real estate developers, owner occupiers, entrepreneurs, lenders and charities/trusts.
  • Working closely with the partner and other members of the team on more complex transactions, having responsibility for key tasks as well as generally supporting the wider transaction.
  • Where appropriate, act as primary contact for clients on a day to day basis providing them with commercially focused legal advice and running transactions.
  • Reviewing and reporting on commercial leases, titles and searches along with preparing Land Registry applications and SDLT returns.
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s GDPR protocols.
  • Contribution to the development and growth of the team through knowledge sharing, training, business development and/or client care and relationship management.

Salary is negotiable dependent on experience.

Private Family Fee Earner
Location: Bishop Auckland

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Solicitor within the Private Family team at our Bishop Auckland office.

The successful candidate will be organised, driven and have excellent communication skills.  They will have the ability to work independently and as part of team, managing a busy workload, and working to tight deadlines.

Experience working within this area of Law is essential, as the successful candidate will be required to run a full caseload of files across a number of sub-categories of Private Family Law including Divorce, Financial Arrangements, Child Arrangements and Domestic Abuse.  The caseload will be a mix of private and legal aid work so experience working across both of these is desirable.

PQE of 2 years+ is desirable.
