Specialist Cycling Accident Claim Solicitors

Testimonial - David Oliver

David Oliver still rides regularly thanks to Hewitts specialist cycling team.
David is an avid cyclist having competed in road track and time trial events since 1960 and at a highly competitive level particularly in the 1960s and 70s. He remains a keen cyclist and is currently the acting Chairman of the Cycling Time Trials in Teesside and the Recorder for the North Group Veterans Time Trials Association.
In June 2012, David was involved in a serious accident when cycling home one evening. His bicycle was struck from behind by a motor vehicle when the driver was inexplicably distracted.

He sustained substantial injuries including bleeding on his brain, various bruises and lacerations, a broken right leg, foot and ankle and severe skin burns upon colliding with the road surface.

David said: “I contacted Hewitts after my accident and from the very outset the service that I received was first class. Hewitts helped to facilitate a prolonged course of treatment including multiple surgeries to aid my recovery followed by a prolonged course of rehabilitation including physiotherapy, all of which Hewitts arranged to be funded by the responsible party’s insurance company.”

“The service provided by Hewitts was professional and friendly from start to finish. They took care of everything and put my mind at ease in what was a particularly stressful time for me.”

“Little more than a year after I first contacted Hewitts they negotiated a suitable settlement of my claim on my behalf and ensured that I retained 100% of the compensation that I was awarded. Even more importantly however the support and treatment that I received enabled me to return to cycling which may not otherwise have been possible.”

“Unfortunately, as a regular cyclist I have been in other less serious accidents and I have continued to turn to Hewitts for their help and support.”

“I have and will continue to recommend Hewitts to anyone who has the misfortune of being injured on the road.”

Testimonial - James Brewerton

James Brewerton lives in Darlington.

When James Brewerton was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident while crossing the road in Darlington he turned to Hewitts for help.

James, who was 15 years old at the time, suffered a broken hip and shoulder as well as severe ligament damage.

Initially, doctors feared he would lose his leg. Thankfully, that didn’t happen but the trauma left him with walking difficulties.

James said: “Hewitts were fantastic. They were able to lodge a compensation claim and secure me interim payments which made life much easier.”

The money enabled James to buy a car for personal mobility which allowed him to resume his studies. Now recovered from his injuries, James is studying sociology at Sunderland University.

“Dealing with Hewitts was so straightforward,” added James. “They made everything simple and I knew immediately that I was in good hands. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
