It is staggering how many clients use our Private Client department for various matters and say “I wish I had done this sooner” or “I have been putting this off for ages”. The truth is, many of us bury our heads in the sand when it comes to considering what may befall us in later life.
In 1996 a specialist group was founded to help and support older people in preparing for later life whilst considering what help and support they may need and how to make things easier for their loved ones. This group was called Solicitors for the Elderly. Their focus was on assisting people with Wills, Powers of Attorney and estate planning, to name a few.
Over the years, it has become apparent that these areas of law are not just important to the elderly or vulnerable. In fact, it is never too early to plan ahead. In 2023, Solicitors for the Elderly became “The Association of Lifetime Lawyers” to highlight the fact that many Private Client services are important throughout an individual’s lifetime and not just during their later years.
Hewitts Solicitors are lucky enough to have three members of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers, together with numerous other experts in Private Client matters, who have years of experience.
If you need any assistance with Wills, Powers of Attorney or Estates, get in touch with a member of our Wills and Probate team who will be able to assist.
